Results of 4,5 weeks “no-poo”

Some of you may have read our blog post about our experiment “hair washing without shampoo”. After 4 weeks we wanted to show you some pictures of the results. So we did a little photoshoot for you while we were visitig Agropoli in Italy. A small historic town in the area of Cilentro. before // This pictures shows Willi´s hair after one week without washing. I decided to skip this step of taking pictuers.   washing procedure // We tried white healing earth and coffee grounds, but found that rye flour and apple cyder work better with our hair. We mix rye flour with water and leave this “natural shampoo” in our hair for a minimun of one hour. We rinse it out with warm water and use apple cider mixed with water as a conditioner. It´s importand to wash out the cider with cold water to close the hair structure.   after // Our hair is soft, clean, and has a healthy shine.

The “No Poo” ‘Do

Maybe some of you have already heard of the “No Poo” method, which already has quite a following. Many of the advantages are self explanatory – as you probably know, washing your hair every day leads to excessive activity of the sebaceous glands and thus quickly greasing hair. Surfactants harmful to our planet are in most regular shampoos as well and of course any measure of reducing plastic waste is always a plus. Anyone we meet doesn’t know what we normally look like and will probably just think our hair is this way from the last surf session. The beginning of the process is …

Cooking & living more healthy in a camper van

When we decided to live in our motorhome and pursue a more wholesome and healthy life, it was clear from the beginning that this would entail more than simply working less and surfing more. One facet of this new life is the challenge of cooking in a motorhome. Especially when your culinary expectations exceed eating variations of pasta every day. In the three years since founding MYMARINI, I have lived a less than healthy lifestyle since it seemed impossible to get the business rolling and also end my work day in time to make it to the grocery store, not even to mention the weekly farmer’s market. There is a German saying that translates into “a healthy mind/spirit lives in a healthy body” which was always somewhere in the back of my mind until it became a voice too loud to ignore. Seeing the chance for us to improve our overall health and wellbeing was another inspiring factor to just get in the drivers seat of our home on wheels and start a new life. …

Seaside

Foto by  CHRISTIN SCHWARZER This is Mareens favorite song when she thinks about the sea. Do you want to go to the seaside? I’m not trying to say that everybody wants to go I fell in love at the seaside I handled my charm with time and slight of hand Do you want to go to the seaside? I’m not trying to say that everybody wants to go I fell in love at the seaside She handled her charm with time and slight of hand and, oh But I’m just trying to love you In any kind of way But I find it hard to love you girl When you’re far away Away Do you want to go to the seaside? I’m not trying to say that everybody wants to go But I fell in love on the seaside On the seaside In the seaside THE KOOKS – SEASIDE
