Today we want to introduce you to a particularly important lady at MYMARINI, Christin. Christin is the photographer behind many of our beautiful photos, and the story about her work is just as lovely as the story about how we met.
Christin: It was somehow inevitable that we would meet. When it comes to the surf scene, Hamburg is like a little village and sooner or later you know everyone.
Mareen: Yeah, that’s true, but not every female surfer just ends up in my showroom.
Christin: Well, I wasn’t just standing there! I wanted to buy a MYMARINI for my next surf road trip.
Mareen: Right! And after our conversation in which I asked you about all details of your work, I knew you were the woman I was looking for. A female surfer and photographer, delightfully uncomplicated and on the same wavelength as me when it comes to tackling new projects. A woman that inspires my visions to take on new dimensions, that I can dream big with and who is also spontaneous enough to turn my sometimes crazy and unexpected ideas into reality.
Christin: Hahaha, yeah, I noticed that fast enough. To seal the new creative partnership, Mareen gave me my first MYMARINI.
Mareen: I love doing that kind of thing.
Christin: What’s so great about that encounter is that a new friendship developed out of it.
Mareen: Yeah, and if you weren’t always on the road in your VW or spending several months at a time in Cape Town, Mauritius or wherever else it is your adventures take you, I would have much more of you!
Christin: True. Nevertheless, our collaboration so far has been great and I’ll be back in Hamburg before the season starts in time to do the product shooting for the new designs. Besides, I’ve successfully tempted you to a few distant locations… A beautiful setting and warm climate simply improves every shoot. In addition, it not only satisfies my desire to travel, but I also manage to pursue my passion for surfing.
Mareen: Exactly! Next time I’m taking you with me to Peniche, Portugal. It’s my favorite surf spot in Europe. I’m already looking forward tot hat trip with you!
And this is what it looks like when Christin gets out her camera and kite material:
